Emily Pope is the carbon management senior fellow at the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions (C2ES). She will be representing C2ES in all matters related to carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) and carbon dioxide removal (CDR), as well as helping to synthesize the learnings from the engineered carbon removal technical working group, among other responsibilities. Previously, she worked at Climate Now and Blue Engine, where she was a project manager and lead analyst on their Carbon Management Community Engagement Project.
Emily received her PhD in Geological and Environmental Sciences from Stanford University. She was also a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Nordic Center for Earth Evolution at the University of Copenhagen, and later an Assistant Professor at the Natural History Museum of Denmark.
When she’s not busy fighting for the climate, Emily enjoys spending time with her family and exploring the many natural and cultural wonders of southern California.
