On the release of America’s Pledge Phase 1 Report:
America’s Pledge and coalitions like We Are Still In are showing that, despite reversals in Washington, U.S. climate action is strong and growing. U.S. cities, states, and businesses are the new face of leadership to reduce emissions and build a low carbon economy. The work of America’s Pledge to quantify the contributions of non-federal actors will be the first of its kind – it simply doesn’t exist elsewhere. Providing a baseline of understanding for efforts outside Washington to contain climate change impacts will help us better understand how much we can narrow the gap in meeting our Paris Agreement commitments and how far we have yet to go.
