From Principles to Action: How Companies are Building Climate Resilience

As the world gears up for COP29, the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions (C2ES) is excited to host a global conversation on climate leadership in the private sector in support of continued momentum around the Race to Resilience goals and the Sharm el-Sheikh Adaptation Agenda. This webinar will feature leading business and climate resilience experts to mark the formal launch of the Corporate Climate Resilience Innovation Stories Library, a new resource showcasing best practices to drive systemic change in the private sector. The event will spotlight real-world examples from companies—including those featured in the Innovation Stories library—illustrating how they are putting into action the Principles for Corporate Climate Resilience Leadership.

The webinar will include a moderated discussion among industry leaders on the emerging strategies that characterize corporate climate resilience action. Attendees will hear from companies like Michelin, Turner Construction, AES, and more, on solutions to address climate risks in their companies, contribute to local resilience, and drive change across sectors and the global business community.

The speakers will explore how showcasing examples of corporate innovation can support the development of best practices that: accelerate pro-active science-based action across industries, improve transparency in climate risk disclosure, inform the development of a global climate resilience framework, and drive outcomes that benefit both businesses and the communities they serve. The webinar will explore how companies have been successful at incorporating resilience into any strategies and operations and where additional work is needed to scale progress across industry sectors.
