25 Leading Companies: Pass Climate and Clean Energy Investments NOW
Full-Page Ad Highlights Call for Investments in America’s Future
WASHINGTON—25 leading companies are calling on Congress and President Biden to pass climate and energy investments now. As Congress returns from the Independence Day recess, a new Center for Climate and Energy Solutions (C2ES) full-page ad in POLITICO highlights their support for investments in America’s future that will ensure the United States is globally competitive in a net-zero economy.
“These companies are looking to the future. They see markets for clean, low- and zero-carbon products growing around the globe, and they’re making a call that the net-zero economy is the smart bet as low-carbon products only grow in demand at home and abroad,” said C2ES President Nat Keohane. “The Senate is at a critical juncture, with a fleeting—but sizable—opportunity to pass a reconciliation package that makes an economic investment to capitalize on this moment. The time is now.”
The companies signing on for the ad organized by C2ES are: ABB, American Airlines, ArcelorMittal, bp America, Carrier Global Corporation, CMS Energy, Constellation Energy, Cummins, Inc, Daikin US Corporation, DSM, Duke Energy, Equinor, Exelon, General Electric, Holcim US, Johnson Controls, LanzaTech, National Grid, PG&E Corporation, Proterra, PSEG, Schneider Electric, Shell, Southern Company, and Trane Technologies
The companies cite climate and clean energy investments as critical to help us win the clean energy future; strengthening our energy security, meeting our climate goals, and lowering costs for consumers.
“With every passing day, the global economy accelerates toward a net-zero future. The reconciliation package being negotiated in the Senate is the last, best chance to not only keep our climate goals within reach, but to set the United States on a path toward a thriving, resilient, and just net-zero economy. ” said C2ES Vice President for Policy and Outreach Brad Townsend. “As Congress reconvenes today for the July work period, they have an urgent and rare opportunity to advance a reconciliation package that simultaneously invests in our nation’s climate and economic futures.”
